International Wine Tourism Grant

Wine Unearthed was a five-episode podcast series, produced to enhance the visitor experience for travellers to the Margaret River Region.

As the series producer, I was responsible for overseeing the production, securing stories & talent, casting a host and key sound crew, obtaining music clearances, conducting interviews, and managing the budget. Basically wrangling all the big ideas and keeping everything running to deadline.

Podcasts can capture the sustained attention from audiences over a longer duration, which is a rare commodity in today’s digital climate. You can really drill into the story and create lasting relationships with your audience. The wine industry competes in a fairly saturated market full of high quality film and photographic content so I thought that a podcast would be a unique approach to gain traction and stand out. It also gives ‘road-trippers’ a way to engage with the region while travelling.

The resulting series, Wine Unearthed, explores the people, natural environment and wineries that make this corner of the earth so special. With rich sounds, and even richer characters, Wine Unearthed allows you to experience the region at a deeper level.
